The Busunju Pader 40mw solar PV plant project is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant designed to contribute to Uganda’s energy transition goals by harnessing solar energy for sustainable electricity generation. Spanning 323.8 ha, it will generate 40 Megawatts (MW) of renewable energy connected to the national grid, addressing the growing energy demand while reducing carbon emissions.

Key Objectives

  • Enhancing Energy Security: Add 40MW of clean energy to Uganda’s national grid.
  • Reducing Carbon Footprint: Replace fossil fuel-based electricity with solar power.
  • Creating Jobs: Provide employment opportunities during construction and operation phases.
  • Promoting Sustainability: Align with Uganda’s Vision 2030 and global climate goals.
