Overview: Uganda’s largest power-generation facility. Following extensive structural adjustments and testing monitored closely by state oversight bodies, the plant was fully synchronized to the national grid to provide cheap, stable industrial power.
Overview: A critical extension project aimed at stabilizing the power distribution network, minimizing power outages, and connecting rural industrial hubs to the primary generation plants like Isimba and Karuma.
Overview: Built primarily to handle heavy cargo flights for the Albertine oil region’s infrastructure rollout. Its progress is heavily monitored by OPM due to its strategic importance to Uganda’s oil timeline.
Overview: These are the primary drilling sites in the Albertine Rift. OPM monitors the enabling works, environmental compliance protocols, and the compensation/resettlement of Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
Overview: The 1,443 km heated pipeline project running from Hoima to Tanga port in Tanzania. OPM monitors the inter-ministerial coordination required for cross-border logistics, land acquisition, and social safeguards.
Overview: The government’s headline program targeting the transition of 39% of Ugandan households from subsistence farming to the money economy. PM allocates funds directly to parish-level SACCOs. OPM’s Delivery Unit monitors the disbursements and grassroots impact.
Overview: While the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) works progress, the government successfully prioritized rehabilitating the Tororo-Gulu and Kampala-Malaba lines to drastically lower the cost of hauling bulk cargo from the Kenyan border.
Overview: Awarded to Turkish contractor SUMMA, this project is a high-profile, fast-tracked sports infrastructure development built to satisfy CAF requirements ahead of Uganda co-hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Overview: Led by NITA-U but monitored via OPM’s digital inclusion directives, Phase V scales up fiber-optic internet connectivity to border districts, tracking centers, and local governments to digitalize public sector administration.
Overview: The construction of modern, multi-level markets in major urban centers (such as Busia, Masaka, and Arua) equipped with cold-storage facilities, daycare hubs, and solar installations.
The Presidential Investors’ Round Table (PIRT), which is chaired by H.E the President, is a high level forum that brings together a select group of both foreign and local investors to advise Government on how to improve the investment climate in the country.The PIRT process and engagement.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 ambitious, transformative and universal Goals with a total of 169 targets and 232 indicators that will guide national and local development by 2030. They aim at eradicating poverty through a focus on partnerships, people, planet, prosperity, and peace.
NIPN aims at creating a platform to bring together and analyse existing nutrition information and data from all sectors. This is in a bid to support the development of evidence-based policies and programmes to improve human nutrition. The NIPN project began in January 2018 with the signing of the contractual agreement
The Government of Uganda has established a Delivery Unit in the National Projects Impemention’s Office to drive delivery of services to the people of Uganda. Cabinet adopted the NDP II recommendation to set up the Delivery Unit and the Ministry of Public Service has formalised its structure within the National Projects Impemention Organization.
